Announcements for the week of 10/29- 11/4

TOMORROW is the Fall Festival! 6:30-8:30 at the Stake Center. It will be inside, and you should wear a costume!!! Also INVITE INVITE INVITE your friends!

On the topic of inviting, you guys have been doing a great job inviting friends to activities. Karissa Hess has asked that you make it a goal of yours to invite a friend every time we have combined YW/YM or even combined YW. She says that it is a LOT of fun, and a wonderful, invigorating feeling every time she invites, whether or not they end up coming! And the more that you invite, the easier it will become. Just FYI, our next combined YW/YM in November is geocaching, and outside AWESOME activity.

If you are interested in learning how to make applesauce and can it, go to Sister Mittleman's house this Saturday at 2pm. She has A TON of apples from her apple trees and she wants to show you how! This will take a few hours, but is totally worth it. If you plan on coming, please bring 1-2 glass jars to can the sauce in.

Beehives and Miamaids are teaching primary next Sunday. If you haven't gotten an assignment yet, please contact Sister Johnson ASAP. This will be during third hour.

Savanna Carlile spoke to us last Sunday about Personal progress and completing Good Works #3.  Read Mosiah 18: 7-10. Write down in your journal or somewhere three ways to comfort others and then actually do them! Talk to your family about your experiences. If you do this this upcoming week, bring your personal progress manual and Savanna will sign it off!!!

Do you remember making and wrapping boxes last year for Veteran's? The project is here again! We have people that will be delivering boxes to Veteran's Hospital in Long Beach, but we need people to put together boxes and wrap them. Items to be included in the boxes are toiletries, cards, socks, candies, games, slippers and so on. If you would be interested in helping make these boxes please contact Sister Gold, as they are due by December 4th.

Everyone show up at the church and we will split off from there.

And if you haven't heard, our new youth curriculum is now THE youth curriculum for the church!

I would like to remind you of Sister Haggard's invitation to go camping...she sent this email out.....

This is not a mutual activity, but my family is going camping, wondering if any other families want to come play.

friday after work, november 2, we are going to point mugu (2 hrs north on the coast).  we will camp at point mugu, sycamore canyon DEV.  it's $45 for one site with 8 people (plus probably $8 fee).  we have room for 4 more on our site.  the whole campground is available right now.  that would be nice if we had the whole campground to ourselves!  is that because november is cold?

it feels like mountain camping (coastal mountains - shady sycamores) but it's walking distance under a bridge to the beach, 1/4 mile?  cute, rocky beach - not like our southern cal beaches.
